Born in 1951, Sir Iqbal is a leading figure within the UK’s Muslim community, actively involved in key volunteer, community, and charitable initiatives for over four decades. He was the inaugural Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), an umbrella body of Muslim organizations in the United Kingdom, playing a pivotal role in amplifying the voices of Muslims across the UK. Additionally, he serves on the International Advisory Panel of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation in Malaysia, is the Vice President of the International Cooperation Platform (ICP), and has formerly advised the Advisory Council for the past four Home Secretaries in the British government.
