His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received His Eminence Professor Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, at Sakhir Palace today. The visit comes as part of His Eminence the Grand Imam’s participation in the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference in Bahrain, held under the theme “One Nation, One Shared Destiny.”
HM King Hamad welcomed His Eminence the Grand Imam and commended his participation in the conference, wishing him and all participants success in achieving the conference’s objectives, serving the interests of the Islamic nation, and strengthening solidarity and unity in addressing current challenges.
HM the King commended His Eminence the Grand Imam’s efforts in promoting tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue, as well as fostering cooperation among nations of different religions and cultures.
HM King Hamad also commended Al Azhar’s role in promoting Islam’s message of moderation, tolerance, and compassion.
HM the King underscored Bahrain’s longstanding commitment to upholding the values and principles of Islam, founded on tolerance, coexistence, peace, and respect for others while promoting human fraternity.
On his part, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb expressed gratitude and appreciation to His HM the King for hosting the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference and for His Majesty’s efforts in serving Islam, supporting Arab and Islamic causes, and advancing peace, coexistence, and cooperation among nations and cultures.
