His Eminence Sheikh Sayyed Ali Al-Amin was born in the town of Qlaileh in southern Lebanon in 1952. He was educated by scholars at the religious seminaries in Najaf, where he later taught the principles of Isamic jurisprudence and advanced religious studies in the seminaries of Najaf, Qom, and Lebanon. Many scholars and sheikhs have studied under his tutelage. He founded the Imam Sadr Institute for Islamic Studies in the city of Tyre. His notable works include the book series “Lessons in the Science of Islamic Jurisprudence Principles,” “The Sunni and Shia: One Nation,” “The Essence of Thinking in Rejecting Insult and Takfir,” and “Common Teachings Between Christianity and Islam.” Sheikh Al-Amin is renowned as an advocate for dialogue and coexistence among various Islamic sects and denominations.
