Bashar Awad Marouf

Renowned thinker, historian, and author from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
Professor Dr. Bashar Awad Marouf was born in 1940 in Al-Adhamiyah, Baghdad. He completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of History at the College of Arts, University of Baghdad, where he also earned his master’s and doctoral degrees. He began teaching at the College of Sharia at the same university in 1967 and attained the rank of full professor in 1981. He founded and became the first president of the Islamic University in Iraq in 1989. He is a member of the Iraqi Scientific Academy, the Royal Jordanian Academy, the Jordan Academy of Arabic Language, and the Arabic Language Academy in Damascus. Since 2014, he has served as an advisor to His Royal Highness Prince Ali bin Nayef bin Abdullah in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
