Yahya Hussein Al-Dailami

His Eminence Sheikh Yahya Hussein Al-Dailami was born in 1961 in Sana’a. He studied under the leading scholars of the Zaidi sect in Yemen, specializing in Islamic jurisprudence and the fundamentals of religion. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies from the University of Sana’a. Sheikh Al-Dailami is credited with numerous intellectual and Islamic advocacy activities, most notably founding Al-Zahraa Centre for Women’s Awareness in 1997 and initiating the Sana’a Youth Movement to raise awareness of national and Islamic issues. He was also a key advocate for ending the war in Saada in 2004 and has launched and participated in several peace initiatives. In 2011, he called for a comprehensive national dialogue, emphasizing the importance of peaceful change.
